SCOTTSDALE, AZ

Attorney / Legal Auditor

The Attorney / Legal Auditor is to assist in the administration of our portfolio from a compliance perspective. We invest in lawyers, law firms, and plaintiffs. This Attorney would look up and monitor developments relating to our investments. This includes a review of case developments. They should be familiar with litigation - they need to read case proceedings and alert me to certain developments, including settlements, rulings (favorable or not), interesting arguments, changes in lawyers, and so on. Experience with document review in a law firm setting would be helpful to this position. This position will help review bank statements, tax returns, and financial statements.

The primary role is an auditing capacity where they will monitor our investments and escalate any issues of concern that are identified. This person needs to be a critical thinker. To the extent we have a particular account in litigation, this position will play a support role by doing basic drafting of briefs and other filings, will assist in the assembly of exhibits, and will ensure that documents are filed on time. This person will assist with brief writing. They will conduct legal research as needed to support our compliance reviews or litigation. They will present the legal research, which can be used to make decisions as to portfolio administration or include in briefs. This person will research applicable filing deadlines and help keep us organized on what those are. They will set deadlines for clients, stay organized as to what those deadlines are, and will escalate if a client misses a deadline.
